Will BlackBerry apps be available in Huawei market so that we can also use it on the new OS?
Hongmeng OS is an Android fork stripped of all things Google. As it stands now, most apps won't work on it - including the BlackBerry app suite.
I think this represents the death of Huawei devices outside of China.
I am of the opinion that you will still be able to download and use WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter and so on outside of China. So I don't think it will be the death of Huawei devices outside China.
Those developers will have to build and maintain a separate non-Play Services fork of their apps.
The vast majority of the top apps now take advantage of Play Services. Those Services can be spoofed inside China (where they don't care about ToS or IP), but not in the rest of the world.
Not sure about Facebook or twitter, but I know whatsapp works perfectly fine without Google Play Services.
Almost all applications work fine without them, including every BB Hub Suite app
So why are people using microG then? Is that a fake app? Come on conite, you know damn well that it's possible to use microG to install apps that use the Play Services.
Also, at least WhatsApp and Twitter work fine without Play Services.
That's illegal - not exactly a workable solution for the masses.
It's only illegal in the USA, it's not illegal in Europe if end users install it themselves, according to a couple of lawyer mates I discussed this with last month or so. So yes, it *is* a workable solution for Asia and Europe. And it's only one APK they need to install, even a baby can do that.
Well, I don't think Google's army of IP lawyers would agree.
they'd have to maintain a version for Huawei or Chinese app store like they do for Amazon. Huawei probably has a API equivalent to services like Google Cloud Messaging (now Firebase Cloud Messaging) just like Amazon does. Mega apps like WA/FB all maintain several versions of their apps. Small devs won't or will update slowly which is why Amazon app store is trash.
Huawei just last month talked about using Sailfish.... I think if their "plan B" Android OS was anywhere near ready, they wouldn't be talking about a "plan c".
Google just started the Fuchsia Developer site... just a coincidence? ;) I suspect it is, but I'm not sure that Android support is always going to be good enough. Fuchsia will support Android Apps, but I suspect like BB10... native will be better performing.
The Huawei CEO also said he buys iPhones for him and his family and that Apple is Huawei's role model when it comes to privacy. I like them, but they say crazy things all the time, so I'm not so sure I believe them when they're talking about using Sailfish. I believe they really are almost ready with their own OS.
Huawei is a branch of the Chinese government. Don't kid yourself.
Absolutely no one gets that big in China without playing ball with the party.
They also stole much of their technology from others.
And you are a branch of the Canadian government. Don't kid yourself.
Don't agree with any of this until I see actual proof. Very rare to disagree with you on anything.:)
Kinda like it's very rare for General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, Lokheed Martin, and Boeing to get that big without government contracts/under the table bribes/kickbacks in the USA. Only there it would be one to two parties. It's all relative.
Just the fact that they are big means they are defacto in league with the government. That's just plain how it works there.

"The Chinese National Intelligence Law of 2017 was an important milestone. It instructs every organization or citizen to support, assist, and cooperate with national intelligence work, building upon the legal framework set forth by both the national security and cybersecurity laws."
I would also be concerned if I had to buy something from Northrop Grumman.
This is common with pretty much any nation during a massive cultural revolution or nation building. For instance: https://www.pri.org/stories/2014-02-...ca-has-history . China has raised more than 400 million people out of poverty in the last 15 years or less and yes, they have stolen technology from other nations. That's just the way it's been throughout history. You can NEVER keep a secret forever.
Also, a lot of Western companies (esp. car manufacturers) are copying designs as well nowadays. Today alone, I saw a German brand of cheap beer at Lidl and the stickers on the bottles looked exactly like Heineken, just with a different brand name! And I can name tons more examples of copies like that by Western companies. So no, it"s not just happening in countries like China anymore: everyone is copying.
Yep and they have been ever since spies were invented, lol. Spy Vs Spy. It's also been shown that over time, countries that have stolen IP have gradually reduced this as their economies and status have improved. While IP was massively stolen by China 5-10-15 years ago, that rate has probably decreased as technology has improved. That happened in the example of the USA vs GB in the 18-19 th centuries as the USA became more and more technologically advanced. Since the end of that period, the USA has become the undisputed leader in technological advances and other countries are stealing. But it is now NEAR to the point where China is meeting or exceeding in many areas and the USA is understandably afraid to become 2nd fiddle. That is a natural reaction and has happened before as I stated in history. That's how England reacted when it's technology was stolen. The question is, does China have global dominance and subjugation/capitialization as a goal. While their internal fighting and tribalization has been legendary, they have never been a war-like country. No major bases around the world deploying 10's of thousands of troops. While they are establishing military bases in and around the South China Sea, that is close to home, you don't see them in Afghanistan, Syria, etc etc. IMHO they are vastly over-rated as being militarily hostile to other nations including the USA. Hopefully that does not change.
Now that's funny right there. [emoji1787][emoji12][emoji317]
well as far as what I have read, it seems they do not need to redevelop another version for Huawei all they have to do is just upload it to the Huawei market.
Yes, I have to agree with you on that. China has no intention nor interests in having a military presence around the world. They only want to protect its sovereignty. It has never been in the Chinese culture to colonise another land at least for the last 2,000 years.
I have come to know that the amount of new registration of IP from China has surpassed that of the US since 2011. Apparently over the last few years the total of new IP registration of both the US and Japan add together is about 20% of the new IP from China. I think that is why the Americans are so angry now.
I tattoo " thief "on my face ? Telling everyone.🤣🤣🤣
