Where did the option for using uniformly sized multitask cards go? I only have the option to use the morphing cards, which require great effort to wrangle, as the change size constantly if I'm pruning what's open.

Was this option removed? Or am I looking in the wrong place?

Go to settings, display and select "recents"

If you're asking what I think you're asking, check Settings > Display > Recents. I think you want Tiles.

I would never be able to use Android if I was stuck with the rolodex style cards. Unfortunately it seems baked into the system and not the launcher (as I had initially imagined).

Wouldn't it require root then? To change other phones' multitasking cards?

Must be managed outside of the OS, rolodex is near useless, it might be useful if I had the option to limit it to the last 6 or 8 apps rather than an unending list.
