    Another Bold!!

Hit or flop? Lets just hope the pricing is right!!!
What should the price tag of this new phone be, let BlackBerry know what you would pay.
I think $425 USD is fair.

Not sure what the thinking is to keep OS7 around some more.

Perhaps they think the Q5 will take a while to be truly popular in emerging markets due to pricing so they want to output an extremely cheap device to rock the emerging markets and keep these people using BB until the Q5 gets to the proper pricepoint.

Why lot just make one called the 9950 and give it the same processor, screen, battery and such as the q10. That would be thier best move. A low res, pos screen won't do them any good at all.

Such hardware would be a waste on the OS architecture of legacy devices

It's great news for all those having trouble getting used to BB10. My sis and I both own Q10s. I like mine. She hates hers. Both of us coming from legacy devices, she heard this news and can't wait for a new legacy device to be released. So there is a market for them

Which makes me question the "BBOS devices sold bellow cost price" statements.

Tell her not to get excited, they managed to screw this one up too, you'll soon see how. It's more of a stepping stone to BB10 rather then what Legacy fans expect.

$425 for a phone that isn't even up to 9900 levels based on the specs!?!? $300 is high.

As far as I know it's entry level so it should be low priced.

On the other hand I'm shocked they still sell the 9900 for 350, same as the Q5 on more or less the same monthly plans. Surely the 9900 cost price is not 350? Unless there's still a good demand for it and the prices remain high.

How legit is this info? The choice seems to be so random and bizarre, except that I have learned not to be surprised by decisions from Waterloo.

Does this sound like the device that your source had hinted at?

Well this is the same site that ran with fan created pics depicting Instagram on BB10 devices as if it were the real thing. It was also the same site that ran with a BlackBerry Leaks April's Fool joke as if it were factual.

    So go figure.....

If it is, this is not the "souped up" BB7 devices that's been talked up to be the upgrade to the 9900 on BB7.5, supposedly.

What a failure and waste of R&D.

I give up trying to figure out some BlackBerry decisions. Unless, of course, that site has just conjured up another fiction to publish as fact.

    With that screen who cares.

This refreshed BB7 is a tired collection of spare parts. If that's new I'm factory fresh.

It's exactly the device my source told me about, however, it's not what I would want from a legacy device.
Since he's not very technical I hope he got a few things wrong, he did tell me once the Q10 was gonna have a trackpad, "new technology" lol

But if he's right let's just say I wouldn't buy it.

They just need to stop. Seriously focus on your current platform BB10. Stop going back to the OS that made people think that you weren't able to compete with Apple and Android in the first place. Move on.

There's still some 70 millions using that OS and they don't seem in a rush to move to BB10at all.

Perhaps this is intended to be a "small Bold" like some of the older 96xx & 97xx devices?

But then I don't get the "path to bb10" thing.

Perhaps it's a Bold without trackpad & buttons?
