I've had a lot of BlackBerry devices in my smartphone day...
Storm, Bold 9650, Storm 2, Curve 9310, Curve 9360, Bold 9930, Z10 (now my Dads), and currently Q10. I've sold off all my legacy devices...
I loved them all in their own little way. The Q10 is very nice and I'm happy for once, but I'm getting that itch to see what this 9720 is all about. I wonder if it's because I like a good relic...?

    Anybody else?

Yep! I just wish they would make the 9620 available world wide first.

I wouldn't mind it I've always loved bb legacy os for some reason. But I probably won't get it unless if it's better then the 9900".

I have VZW so will probably never get the chance, ala the Style 9670, Bold 9790 and Torch 9810. All ones I desired but could never get for VZW.

Is was thinking this would be a nice tide over device until I am happy with BB10 but Verizon so no chance. Same with Torch.

8900 to 8520, followed by 9300, 9700 and 9800, recently purchased Q10 but the 9720 looks absolutely amazing. Combining the reliability of a 9320 (with BBM key) with the effective Q5 keyboard with a 9790 style is ingenius. And the great news, its supposed to be a cheaper device! Besides, I prefer OS7 to BB10 ( yes its true, I have weird taste )

It won't be on any carriers in the states, and definitely won't work on VZW...

Since I jumped to BlackBerry 10 don't want to look back, nope. My bold 9780 was nice, but it is past.

I actually like the look of it and I'm glad to see they updated the OS with some BB10 features like the swipe up to wake the screen and the camera activation from the lock screen. Hopefully it will generate sales at the low end while they continue to push out BB 10 updates and devices.

I'm not even interested in the phone @ all, its fugly compared to my 9900. But I do like the os. Wouldn't mind upgrading my 9900's os to what the 9720 have, even though I seriously doubt it will happen.

This phone is an upgrade from the 9320 which itself was an upgrade from the 8520. The 9900 is still quite an expensive phone, same price as the Q5. This phone has the potential to reduce my monthly payments by 20-25. Can I afford to pay more? Yes, but I don't want to any longer. I might even buy it outright and get a SIM only contract for 15 a month, down from 40-45 I pay at the moment.

That's understandable, and would do the same if I had no other choice.

But what I don't understand is why would BB spend more cash on creating this when they could drop the price of the 9900, since they already have everything they need to build the 9900.

Because the 9900 was expensive to make with high end materials, if they drop the price they'll make a loss. This new device can earn them a profit.
