Change Log: (as per my personal observation)

- Fixed the bug where when you are in a call, you cannot access the phone, pressing the menu key didn't do anything nor holding it, you could only talk or end the call, this is now fixed and you can multi task as you are in a call just like in the past

I can't install this, after I deleted the vendor.xml file and launched loader.exe, i get an error message telling me that a newer version of apploader is required.

I did delete the original apploader folder to ensure that the latest one that is included in this new OS is installed on my computer but no luck either

I then launched BB Desktop Software, it started to update, but after the backup gave me the same error :(

Finally got it installed after a lot of attempts

Installation Instructions:

1- Backup your device using BlackBerry Desktop Software

2- Uninstall BlackBerry Desktop Software and remove all settings

3- Install the OS only first

4- Delete the vendor.xml and shrink the OS (optional)

5- Delete the entire Apploader folder from C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader

6- Install BlackBerry Desktop Software 7.1 Build 42

7- Delete vendor.xml file again from C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader

8- Run loader to update



In the previous OS 7.1.0.1046 when I am in a call if I look at the screen or press back it remains black and I can't access the phone features just the call I'm on, I hope it is fixed in this new OS

yes

Don't be afraid of this bunch of posts. Assuming you are already on the latest BlackBerry desktop manager and delete the vendor.XML files everything goes fine.
