I got the live messenger from blackberry website. But when I was trying to log in, a poped up windows told me that the service not enabled on my handheld. What's wrong with it? And what should I do to avoid this? Thx

This probably is not much assistance, but to my knowledge the native IM client integration is with the carrier; you need to ask them to enable this or use something like Beejive. instant messaging anywhere. It may also have something to do with BES vs BIS, but I am not sure on that. You could try resending your service books and see if that clears up the issue as well.
