There's a whole thread on this. I use only Wifi apps on my 8820. I even had AT&T turned off data to make sure I don't use Edge. Works great!

I have no problem running Wifi with my 8820..just turn it on and turn off mobile network to make sure that the connection that is being used is Wifi.
