What did I wrong? Please help!
- Hoping to get some help from almighty CB gurus!
I have an T-mobile 8820 that has been flawless for about 10 months running carrier approved 4.2 OS. Last week I started to itch for OS upgrade and finally loaded 4.5.0.110 from AT&T. Everything went well, really liked the 4.5. I thought I was all set when out of the blue that night I stopped receiving e-mails and lost BB mssnger. I did not do anything to the phone at all.
I spent the last 2 days trying to restore my e-mail push. I think I did everything imaginable.
- Downgraded to 4.2, same thing- no email/BB mssngr, but browser works
- Upgraded back to 4.5.0.110 wiping with JL_cmdr and restore- no email/BB mssngr, but browser works
- tried to resend service books from T-mobile BIS site after each upgrade/downgrade- device would not receive them
- tried to register Host Routing table after "hard" battery pull after each upgrade/downgrade- still no luck.
- BTW, UMA works fine with, but no data.
To me, it sounds like a network problem, but my wife's blackberry works fine. Also, I have full bars and Edge at all times.
Does anyone have any other ideas? Did I damage the hardware doing this "unapproved" OS upgrade?
Thank you guys!01-03-09 11:44 AMLike 0 - I would try these two things. Try sending the Service Books again.
Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Menu key > Register Now
After you receive the notification that the device has been registered, check to see if your email works. If it doesn't work, log in to your BIS account and delete the email account and then recreate it. When you are done, select the Service Book button, and send the service books.
The other thing I would try is this: If this is your personal account, then you need to log into BIS, or you can run Email Setup on your BB, and log in. Check your accounts one by one. If you see the word validate on any account, simply click that and it will re-validate the account's user id and password. If the accounts are fine, resending service books (also done from Email Setup on the phone) will need to be done.
I hope one of these things help.01-04-09 07:57 AMLike 0 - Sith_ApprenticeMod Team Emeritusdo you have EDGE or edge? Have you had your carrier remove/readd the data plan? Also go into options icon > mobile network > data services > OFF, exit out of the menu (save the change), then go back in and turn the data services back on.01-04-09 07:58 AMLike 0
