well after getting my bb 8820, unlocking it, and absolutely LOVING it, today, it seems to have disappeared. I retraced my steps, but here in Montreal, we are in the middle of a massive snow storm, so that isn't an easy feat today.
On Thursday I activated the GPS and downloaded google maps. I am wondering if there is any way to track the phone that way?
If you had Berry Locator you could. It makes the Blackberry yell (make a lot of noise) and emails you the coordinates. But it has to be loaded on your Blackberry to work.
If the device is still on, you may be able to get the GPS coordinates from your carrier. They may require a police report or something similar but well worth the effort. Some GPS devices can even be pinpointed without ppwed to the device, idk if BB GPS is one of those, but again hopefully...

Just making sure that you didn't overlook the obvious....Did you try calling the BB to see if you could hear it? Or if someone found it they may answer it so that you could get it from them.
I did try calling - but it would ring once and go right to voice mail. I called Rogers and asked about GPS - but the customer service rep said it wasn't possible. But he also told me that my phone hadn't been used since the 22 of Feb. - which is wrong, I used it yesterday a bunch of times before I lost it. I went back again today to retrace my steps, but there is so much snow I think it's a lost cause. Maybe this is a sign to get an iPhone.
