Hello guys, I recently have been shopping around for a Blackberry 8800 and came across one for 200 bucks. Its a ATT&T phone and my question was- Can you unlock a ATT&T BB and then sign it up and use it (internet features/data features) with no problem on a T-mobile network If a buy a plan with them? I would appreciate some insight on this. Great sight and I am looking forward to becoming a BB addict.

Yes. If you unlock the AT&T 8800 it will work just fine on TMobile. However, I think you can get the 8800 for around that same price from TMobile if you buy a plan from them. Also, FYI, there are some brand new BB's coming out this month. The 8820 from AT&T (will have wifi & GPS) and the 8320 from TMobile (will have wifi and camera.) So you might want to consider those options, as well.

Thanks for your help Clark. Are those new models coming out for sure in the Month of September? I want to get a BB so bad ever since my girlfriend got one. Its a shame.

AT&T 8820 is rumored to be out 9/4/07 and TMo's release of the 8320 is rumored for 9/24/07

I had a Cingular 8800 unlocked and working on T-mobile just fine... but like John Clark said... The new BB's should be out this month. I'd hold out if you can.
