As far as I'm aware Talk Mobile don't have a BIS(BlackBerry Internet Service) option. So push email, app notifications etc aren't going to work but...

You could try using Bolt Browser or Opera Mini and enter your APN details.

from here:- Talkmobile: Get Your Settings for Mobile Internet and MMS

Been sure enter the correct details as they are different for Pay Monthly and PAYG.

To enter APN details: go to => Options - Advanced Options - TCP

This would allow you to use the browser but not get push email, app notifications etc.

    Hope this helps.

Hi all, i know it's been a while since you guys posted on this but i'm facing similar issues and thought you might be able to help me with this:

I wanted to use my spare Blackberry 9700 purely for browsing (ie. don't need BBM etc.) and thought i've entered the APN setting correctly.

I rang up TM customer service who said that i'll need to pay extra for the Blackberry bolt on in order to use my BB handset - but i'm pretty sure it isn't necessarily the case for other networks if all im interested is simple browsing on my BB? I'm thinking if it's all worth it getting a Blackberry sim-only contract once my current contract runs out (in 2 months time), as ideally i'd like a contract that can be interchangeable between my BB 9700 and my iPhone 3GS. Any ideas?

Also, I see someone mentioned 'Bolt Browser or Opera Mini' - I'm not sure if i'm following what these have to do with the internet settings? Many thanks in advance!
