I am new to all of this so im not sure why this is happening but ill tell you what i did. i put it so my email and sms inbox will be seperate, and they are which is great. i added gmail as my main email on the phone and now i have one inbox called Messages (the usual one) and then i now have one that is the SAME envelope icon as Messages but has a small globe next to it and it says my email address when i scroll over it. When i receive an email i get a red star at the Messages icon and this other icon. can i just have one?????
You'll always have both, you can't delete the Messages folder, but you can hide it and just have your gmail and SMS boxes visible. You're not losing any memory by hiding it because there's still only one copy of the messages, they're simply displayed in two locations. Select the Messages folder, press the Menu button, and select Hide.
