I have the Pearl now and like it. I've decided to go with either the 8800 or new curve.....can I hear a few 1st hand comments on why you would choose one over the other?

I would choose the Curve over the 8800. Mainly because of the key layout on the 8800. I was a strong 8700 lover, and thus loved the keys on it. The keys on the 8800 are a little close, and thus, to me, cause more spelling mistakes than it did on the 8700, or does on the Curve...
But, on the flip side, the 8800 feels more solid, albeit the new Curve 8320 from T-Mobile, feels more solid than the Curve from AT&T (I have both)...

That must be really nice to have both a Curve and an 8320.
I have the 8800 and agree the keys are very tight for my chubby little fingers
but I will manage for now to keep peace in the family my wife does not share the same enthusiasim on technololy as I do
I think the 8800 is awesome, yes the keys are slightly to close, but the whole functionality, but mainly the look and feel is so sophisticated, I just love it.
I've had all 3 phones, and now have an 8820. The Pearl was small, with truetype - and a smaller screen. The Curve was the best to type on, but mine had neither GPS(built in) nor WiFi. The new 8820 has GPS and WiFi, the only Blackberry that does have all three. If you are on AT&T- I would suggest it, larger keyboard and all.
My wife and I have owned our 8820's for just over a week. I love the keyboard and feel on the 8820. Originally, we thought we wanted the curve. Great size, fits in the hand well, especially my wife's. Then we visited a store and actually typed on one. The key's may be spaced farther apart, but they felt flimsy and mushy to both of us. We did several tests, typed a bit, then compared notes. In the end, I liked the feel and accuracy of the 8820, so did she. The real selling point.... Both of us made less typos on the 8820.... and it has Wi-Fi. If you are with AT&T, the 8820 is the only way to go. My 2cents. :)

First thing is I would change the carrier to AT&T. I'm not a fan at all of t-mobile. I currently have both the curve and the 8800. I love them both for seperate reasons. If you are looking to take pictures and do more of the media then i would chose the curve. but if your looking for a business type phone then i would go with the 8800. And the telenav on the device is fantastic. I used it last weekend on vacation and i would have been lost without it. The 8800 used to be the only phone with the build in gps but the new curve now also comes with it. Oh and just a heads up AT&T just came out with the upgrade to the 8800 it is the 8820.
I've been a BB admin for 8 years and seen them evolve. IMHO the BEST so far is the 8800 series. I've worked with models from several of the carriers and the 8800 series always wins. The 8830's are nice for International. I've tested the 8820 and am very excited about getting one to use on a day to day basis. The Curve (8300) is cool, small, light but I prefer the stable feeling of the 8800.
I went from the Pearl to the 8800. I love the look and feel of the 8800. I have far less typing woes with the 8800 than I did on the Pearl. I also love the solid feel and functionality of the 8800. I thought that I would miss the camera, but honestly I don't b/c I never really used it.
I have an 8830, which by design and feel, are the same as an 8800. It is awesome. Well built and everything?
