Hello I was just wondering if the OS beta upgrade 4.5 available on the internet was compatible with ANY carriers? Anyone with TELUS MOBILITY ever tried installing the upgrade on their 8830? If so, have you experienced any problems after installing the thing?

    Thanks for answering~!

As long the OS is for the same exact model, you can load it as long as the vendor.xml file is deleted.

the OS is device dependant and doesn't have ANYTHING to do with carrier. There are issues as 4.5 for CDMA is in beta and any loading of a non Telus OS would violate your warranty.

Works great on my Bell 8830 and of course you know TELUS and Bell phones are for all intents and purposes, identical.

Question: My BB 8830 is on a corporate BES, would reinstalling the OS affect my ability to re-run enterprise activation? I say that because i receive at least 100 e-mails a day on my BB and it'd be nice to see them in HTML . However, if I can't get enterprise activation to work properly on 4.5 then I won't risk screwing up the activation and having to wait a day or 2 for someone to reset my account on the BES.

    Anyone have any insight?
