    Hi.
Today I bought from ebay my first Blackberry so Im not undertanding some things.
First of all I live in Portugal,my network is Vodafone and my Blackberry is a 8800.
When I try to login on Gtalk or Windows Live Messenger it says:"Service not enabled for this handheld".
Do I need any program or something like that?
    What should I do?

Do you have a BLACKBERRY Data Plan (BIS) from your service provider? You need that.

Contact your service provider and ask for the proper data plan.

Do I need to do something else besides get BIS?

Does the service provider support the device you have?
Do you have the Service Books loaded on the device?

Contact your carrier and speak with Tech Support. If you can browse the Internet using the BB, then it should be working fine. If not then they can assist or should be able to anyways.,

    Again, I will ask ....

Does the service provider support the device you have? If they don't natively support that device, then you might not be able to get it to work.

Have you contacted the service provider to send the Service Books to the device?
John Pawling and mastern like this.
