I received my 8820 for work and before the IT folks got their hands on it, I set up my personal GMail account on it. After they set up the phone with thier policies (making it completely useless for anything other than phone calls, corporate e-mails and some browser functionality), there doesn't seem to be any trace of my GMail account but I still receive GMail on the BB. I cannot create a new GMail and if I open a GMail and scroll up, it says "Received Using: Unknown." If I go into E-Mail, Options, there is no trace of GMail, only the corporate e-mail. I would like to stop them from coming in because I will eventually give up the BB to the next guy doing my job and I don't want the new owner to keep getting my personal e-mail.

    Thanks.

Try going in to your service Books, under Options>Advanced>Service books, and deleting any gmail service books you find there. That should stop the emails.

If it doesn't you could call your carrier and have the account unlinked from your PIN.

    Hope this helps.

Sounds like there is a stray service book. Ask your IT guy to resend your service books to see if it fixes the issue.

I found 2 service books that referenced GMail and deleted them. That seemed to slow the mail down (takes 10 minutes before it shows up on the BB vice near instantaneously) but it still shows up. I called AT&T and asked them to take it off the BIS but they told me that I had to call my IT department because any accounts that were set up when they installed the Enterprise mail were somehow on their server now?? I don't know how this is possible since they don't manage internet mail; they don't even allow internet mail on the BB they give you. Does this sound right or do I need to get in touch with a better customer service rep at AT&T? Do they have a separate BB number or should I just try again through their wireless customer service number?
    Thanks.

With all the advice about Service Books and the BIS, etc and searching these forums, I finally figured this out. I went to my carriers BIS internet site (thanks naviwilliams for suggesting this to someone else to fix a different problem) from the BB (it wouldn't work from the PC--I went to 'forgot my password' and put in my pin and it told me I don't have an account and suggested I go there from my BB so I used the same web address but in my BB browser and it worked just fine) and I had options to set up, edit, etc my GMail account. I selected the Delete option and, sure enough, it is gone.

Thanks to all for the help.
