I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this strange issue with their 8830s. When I am listening to music and I enter a no-service area (usually underground or on the subway), my 8830 is prone to random resets in which the screen goes immediately blank and the red LED comes on. 1-3 minutes later, the device is successfully booted again and continues to work properly. This doesn't happen everytime, but it happens often enough to be quite bothersome. It seems to only happen under these circumstances, as well. I should also mention that I am using a Seido headphone adapter.

    Any ideas?

This just happened to me. I don't use any headphone adapter and I didn't move into a no-service area (I didn't move at all ).
I was watching a movie I ripped to my MicroSD card.
First time this ever happened to me but I've ony had the BB for a few weeks.

I'm using a 8830 with a Seidio adapter also and it resets quite often when I go underground (I live in NYC)! How can we fix this? PLEASE HELP!!! This is my setup...

    bb 8830
    sennheiser cx400 headphones
seidio 2.5mm male to 3.5mm female adapter
    bb media player

After the reset, the wireless is automatically turned OFF then I have to manually turn it back on.

I get these all the time. I've gone from 4.2 to 4.5/127 to 4.5/135 and I still get random resets/reboots up to 3 times a day. Might be a hardware issue. My 8830 is 1.5 years old and has been dropped once or twice. Otherwise it works fine.
