Hey guys, so I'm with Bell (a CDMA carrier) so this is their only GSM phone. I'm wondering, if I were to order say, a Sidekick off eBay, would I be able to take the Bell SIM out of my phone and put it in the unlocked Sidekick? Just not sure how that would work seeing as Bell is a CDMA carrier.. Any tips/knowledge helps. Thanks!

Nope, because the SIM card intended for the 8830 uses different radio frequency/bands that are common with those overseas and not here in America.

If you search the forum, there is a thread that will help you answer in more detail.

i just gave it a try with my verizonwireless/vodafone sim in to my personal nokia n81 and it gave me a failed to register SIM error message. so providing bell is the same, you might only be able to use that sim in that phone and not another quadband gsm phone.

not sure about the SIM only using 2 frequencies of GSM no matter what phone it is in, but i don't doubt it.
