I am a 8830 WE newbie and I have two questions that I've not been able to find answers for yet. I added AccuWeather Push Service on my BB, but I would like to remove it. I followed some other info I found here and unchecked Enable Browser Push but the icon is still there and still updates. I'd like to remove it but can't figure out how. In the same vein, does having this Push seervice on my BB suck the battery life out? I find I have to charge all the time. I appreciate any help. Love my BlackBerry and look forward to learning and using more and more.
go to Options>Advanced Options>Applications...find the app and highlight it, press menu key and choose "delete", it will probably ask you to restart your BB...and yes it COULD drain your battery, depending on how often it was updating, any apps that connect to the internet randomly will kill your battery faster.
I have tried to delete it from my bookmarks a few times and it keeps popping back up again everyday. Could anyone help me to delete the AccuWeather please. I even went to the service book and I cannot seem to find it there. So I cannot figure out how do I get rid of this headache.
Have you tried opening the weather program, clicking on the icon. Click on Push Weather at the bottom of the screen, accept the terms and then highlight each location listed and delete them. That should stop the program from downloading data and after a battery pull the icons should go away.
Mine keeps coming back as well. I have fox news and nyt push servises and everytime I delete them they come back like a day later. Ne1 know how to permanantly get rid of them??????
