I'm a newbie to this forum, as well. Our company just swapped everyone's Treo and iPAQ for new BB 8800's over the last couple of weeks. Ours came with an app called "TeleNav" which appeared to be a pay-to-use app. So we hid it and downloaded Google Maps on all BB's. Didn't have any problems with either the download or the install.
Here's hoping another Vodafone user drops in to give their experience with this. Since it works fine with other carriers, I'm beginning to wonder if it's a Vodafone issue...
Hi ,
try to reset your BB , if the problem persist you should reinstall the OS
But with Vodafone
if u have only BES service provisionned on your sim card
google MAP & GPS will be ok
But google Mail no
you should have BES & BIS ( BB+) on the same sim
I get similar messages when I try to install either Maps or Gmail. Both tell me I need a working data plan and I had activated one for the day on T-mobile. I'm using an 8820. I am using a pay-as-u-go plan without a data plan but previous BB 8350i downloaded and installed via wifi. Any suggestions??
