Im on at&t. Eligible for upgrade in march. Nonetheless, i'm curious about upgrading to an 8820 from my curve. (or, purchasing one from ebay/marketplace/etc) to have as a second device. Would this be pointless? Is the 8820 outdated?

Yes is pretty much is. I don't even see them in my local Att stores since the Bold came out. I only see the 8820 on their website anymore. The Bold is not much more.

Hey well, i don't know if the 8820 is 100% out dated. Sure it doesn't have 3g but with so many issues that i've seen with battery life(keep in mind ATT bolds do not have the option at least for now to turn off 3g and save some battery life) and an OS that can be iffy sometimes. I would probably go and try them out before you buy it to make sure. i was contemplating the same thing, but went with the 8820 because i liked the feel design and price of it. Best of luck!
