    Hi there,

Is there any 3rd party software that will allow me to password protect
    my 8830's :
    1. Picture files
    2. Address book
    3. Saved e-mails

I KNOW this is a hard one, but I'm hopeful there's someone out there
who can figure this one out.

SO MANY LESS sofisticated phones like Motorola's razr has this "feature" !

    Thanks for your time!

You can't password protect specific apps on the BB. You can password protect the entire device by going to Options >Security Options >General Settings.

Agreed JOhn, and i use this function.

Its also useful when you want to unlock the keypad, you can just type your password

I also agree with you John but it would be nice to be able to password protect a single file on the device, I use to do that on my Moto Q . It is useful for me because I often let my customers play with mi device while I do their activation.

Another way to do that, you can hide those apps that you don't want them playing accidentally. I bet they don't know how to unhide and or hide icons yet
