I like mine, I'm only going back to my 8100 because I miss the camera and never quite got used to the keyboard. Other than that it's a great device. 8/10

The 8830 is the World Edition, the 8820 is the wifi enabled GSM version.

    For me, my 8820: 11/10

10/10. I have a 8310 and an 8820, and my 8820 is my favorite by far. It is solid (mine has been dropped, thrown across a room, and just about anything elts you can think of, and still works fine), the keyboard is amazing, and the wifi and gps are great. I also love the look of it as well. I don't even miss the camera or anything elts on my 8310 at all.

I have had mine for 2 years now and I give it a 10/10 for:

    • Reliability: No problems to date
    • Battery life: About 5-6 days on before needing a re-charge
    • Keyboard: Easy to use and navigate
    • Screen resolution: Able to display wallpapers and family photos sharply
    • Synchronization: Flawless with MS Outlook.
This, in my opinion, is one of the most solid devices in the Blackberry line.

I give mine an 8/10. Sync is not so flawless on Mac. Battery life was great until I tried Funambol with schedule world. I had to shut that down in a big hurry to avoid Treo-like battery life. I find the blue backlit keyboard to be hard to see in the dark. I would prefer white backlighting and a different more readable font on the keys.

I think the 8830 is a great phone, but I do look forward to Niagara. I think my sync problems might be solved if I find the time to install missing sync. I haven't had a chance just yet.

New to BB. would give it a 8/10 as would like it easier to load apps without a data plan. Could use a better User manual and explanation on how things are accomplished. Otherwise great phone.

After a year I would give my 8820 an 9/10. Its only failing is that I wish I had more memory. Its also a little sad that its on sale for $99 at t-mo but its worth the $349 I spent to have it this past year.
