I have an unlocked 8820 and I'm trying to install Opera mini 4, it simply won't install, whether I download over the air or by PC. I'm using it on Rogers in Canada, do I have to enter their APN info in the phone to get this to program to install? I used to use a windows mobile 6 device before this and it installed without any issues...

Im looking for help trying to install the Opera Mini Browser ver. 4. I downloaded the browser via the BB browser. Download was sucessful as i have the "0" icon..now when i click the icon and it prcoceeds to install itself i get this message.

Failed to connect to the internet.

go to operamini.com/help?version=4.0 with your desktop browser or contact service provider for internet settings.

i tried this with my previous 8300. Same Result

With my G/f Pearl...Same result

and now with my 8800..

I have tmobile..i have the data plan..i cant figure out why this wont install?...

Opera Mini can be a little confusing when first installing. When you go to the web site you click download, and then you have to install it. Aftwards Opera Mini runs, but the screen says installing. Which really just means loading in my opinion.

If you are seeing the Opera Mini logo then the app is installed but is unable to connect to the internet. Most likely you need to enter info for the APN settings. Go to Options > Advanced Options > TCP. T-Mobile's is APN: wap.voicestream.com, username and password are both blank.

Call O2 and ask them what their APN settings are. Then enter them in Options > Advanced > TCP.

Or wait a few mins and I'll PM you with your APN...
