Does custom ringtones work? How about the screen lag? Has those been fixed? KC, how much memory did you get from previous version (which ver. were you running previously?)

custom ringtones are working here. just had my chicken clucking ringtone go off.

I was running the bell 4.5.0.127 and was around 12,100,000 now i am running around 16,000,000 and have more apps loaded now then before.

In terms of free space, .135 did nothing for me. If anything I probably lost a bit of memory. Good to know custom tones work but screen lag is still there.

EDIT: I think there is a memory leak. Did a clean wipe, went from 20MB to 18.7 in 15-20 min. while doing...nothing. Probably just going to go back to .127. Bell OS for a Bell phone, can't go wrong.

I already have .135 from RIM. If I download Sprint's now (I have Sprint) will it recognize it as an update and reinstall with sprints vendor file and therefore I will get sprints tweaks for their network, etc? Or will is there no need to do this or even try to do this?

Wow, I probably spent three hours yesterday sifting through the forums trying to figure out how/if I could upgrade my device software. I am proud to say I have accomplished this task and am now running v4.5.0.135

Upgrade from .127 an hour ago. Improved memory, speed, and reduced the screen lag a bit (but it's still there). So far so good. The only annoying thing was having to reset the custom ringtones on all my contacts.

Just curious - what is the MMS hack? I know it has something to do with photographs but that's about it. Is it charged against TEXTING? If so, I'm not interested as I have NO text allowance. I can deal with photos at email attachments, I guess.

It just allows us 8830 we users to send MMS messages (Pictures, sounds, etc...). On Sprint it just allows us to send them, when we get one we still have to follow a "PictureMail" link. Below is a link to instructions on how to be able to send MMS on an 8830 WE.

Can anyone confirm BBerry Maps with GPS on verizion 8830 with this release?

Was fine on .127, now Maps doesn't even have the GPS entry on the option screen.
