For install instruction to load any carrier 8800 OS on your BB:
1. Download desired OS to your PC
2. Install/run OS to PC
3. Delete vendor.xml file. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
4. Connect BB to Desktop Manager and it should prompt the upgrade. If not click app loader and that should initialize it.
5. Do not unplug BB during the process. It will take around 30-60 minutes to complete upgrade
I have installed this latest OS on my 8800 and it works fine. I haven't really noticed anything different other than in my SMS message list, there is a high priority marker next to some messages that now state that a "reply is requested."
I just upgraded today and I am having a problem loading my Hotmail in the browser. Previously I had no issues, but post upgrade I get an error that says
The Microsoft service that you are attempting to access is not supported by the mobile browser you are using. The minimum browser requirement for this service is full WAP 2.0 support.
Any ideas? Why would it work fine before and not now?
After I loaded this latest OS on my Blackberry 8800 I noticed a huge difference in almost every aspect of performance. Speed is increased, reception is better, browser has more options, boots faster. I think RIM made some real improvements with this OS.
Does anyone know another place I can download this from? I plan on giving my old 8800 to a coworker and I wanted to make sure its up-to-date. The only issue I have is that, RIM has blocked all traffic in China from downloading the software.
Hey guys, can someone send me the link so that I can download the desktop manager with Roxio Media Manager in it. I just reformatted my computer and can't find my disk. I have the 8330 Curve

I have downloaded this version by some tools, you can contact with me by email:[email protected],I'll transmit the file to you
How do I know which file to download. I went to the blackberry.com website. I chose downloads. Then the blackberry phone i have (8800). Then it lists a whole bunch for versions, platforms, etc. Do I just choose the first one that is listed, which is the one that is posted on the beginning of this thread.
After I go to the Blackberry Desktop Manager v4.7 and click "Application Loader" then "Updates", it shows my current OS 4.5.0.110 and the new one I downloaded 4.5.0.132. I can check the box next to the newer one and click next, but it just says that "No software update is required for your device".
Thank you for your help!
(also, is it possible to remove the ATT built in apps from an unlocked ATT phone? I don't really see the point of having the Push-to-talk app running constantly when I use T-Mobile and they don't support that feature.)
