Hello All,
I am a newbie to the whole blackberry thing. I have a 8820 and I am looking for some info. I am to cheap to purchase the media net plan so I have a few questions about my 8820 without this option. What things can I do with the GPS option? Is there any way to download some type of app that is free? How about any other options like the streaming radio, etc..

google maps is free. It just won't talk to you. But sometimes silence is a good thing.

Do you need to be connected through wifi for it to work?

No Google Maps uses your internal GPS receiver.

can I load this on my SD card or do I need to load it into memory? Is there any special settings I need to program into the GPS?

You cannot load any programs onto your sd card it is for media only such as pics music etc.
