The problem this MR addresses is with 8830 devices only. The issue being addressed is that the device will drop from 1XEV to 1x, losing data connectivity. Rebooting the device restores connectivity. There are no feature enhancements in this MR, it strictly addresses this connectivity issue.
This software will need to be installed by tethering the device. Over the air upgrade is not available for this fix.
The BlackBerry 8130 (Pearl) is known to also experience this same data connectivity loss. A Maintenance Release addressing this issue for the 8130 is in the works, and is tentatively expected by mid June. The 8330 (Curve) device that we have just launched has this issue fixed in the production launch software, no MR is needed for the 8330.
There is typically a two to three week lag time for new software releases to be loaded on devices shipping from the factory.
So anyone on Verizon give this patch a try? I've been waiting on this to come for awhile...and if the sprint version will work on my Verizon 8830, that would be awesome.

Waiting on what? Are you having problems with data connectivity? If you are not experiencing any of the above stated problems, then why fix it if it's not broken?
Too early to say anything conclusive, but has anyone noticed a boost in network speed as well when browsing and downloading stuff?
Also, I noticed no memory differences whatsoever.
BTW, between this and the Bell version, the only thing that's changed in this release is the actual firmware of the phone. That's the sfi file in the CDMA folder. Everything else is the same OS wise.
Well, I got up this morning only to find my house flooded..... by the huge *** memory leak in this release. Why, oh why RIM is it so hard to just test something out throughly once and for all?
I am currently running the same v.4.2.2.123(Platform 3.0.0.64) that came with the phone I purchased in December. Is it worth updating? Any concers I should have? Thanks for the help!
