Well I just got done doing an LCD screen R&R. I also cleaned up the trackball, too.
Went pretty easy. Sure was dirty in there.
Now that I know the phone works, I think I'll go ahead and replace the cracked window covering the LCD.
Next thing on my list is I'd like to clean the thing out and start from new.
    Any pointers for that task?

(I don't have a data plan on my other phone so I'm able to take my time fixing up this new BB. When it's all rebuilt and ready to rock, that's when I'll fire up everything.)

That is quite an undertaking! I am not sure about rebuilding but you may want to check the link in my signature if you need replacement parts or specialized tools to do the job. I will be interested in hearing how the endeavor went.

The LCD went in with no problems.
I cleaned the crackball when I was in there but it's still not at 100%.
Right now I'm waiting for the new housing and keypad to show up.
Luckily the housing I'm getting comes with a new ball.

Now I've run into the problem of the phone not connecting to the desktop.
The screen just keeps flashing that it is connecting with the PC but doesn't.
