New BB Question: Flashing ?

Hey I am new to the Crackberry world. I am from the world of Pocket PC.
I had a AT&T Tilt but had to ditch it due to coverage after our move and did not want to lay out that much for a phone again.
But I loved my Tilt and loved to fiddle with it making new startup screens, cooking new roms and such to get it like I wanted it.

So far I have not seen much if any of that here, are there any mods, roms, and such you can do or are themes about it.

PS I have the goodies for themes and am working on some now :)

Welcome to CB What type of mods are you thinking of? There arent going to be too many but maybe I can help a little.

I used to play with the radio to get one that worked better.
It affected the phone and the GPS reception


Also I noticed the themes are mearly png overlays.
How do you setup where the pieces are set and tie them together such as Signal, Battery, Clock, Date, Messages, GPS, Sound, etc.
THen how to change from the today layout to the icon layout.

Other "mods" will be limited. Try upgrading your OS and optimizing memory... those are about the only ones! ;)

what can you do with OS ?
Is the latest from Verizon the latest I can run ?
It is 4.2.
Can I run a 4.5 from elsewhere ?
