I like to think im tech saavy, but im clueless on how I know that my mute button is on or off. I need to be able to know whether or not the sound is on or off!
Ah, that's standbye mode... Most of us use that as opposed to locking it. I have been told it recovers faster thank locking.
Just hold that button down for about 3 seconds... ur phone will go into standbye and the keys are locked etc... u still will be able to rec. calls, text and the like. Click it again to recover.
ok i think i figured this out- I am used to my old treo where the mute button mutes everything. I understand standby mode where you hold the button down, but i assumed hitting mute once turned the entire phones sound on and off. Now I realize that the mute on top of the phone is really just to mute a loud ringer or your speaker during a call etc....am I right? I should really be controlling the sound by changing my profile? thank you!
Ur welcome. U know I haven't tried that to mute a loud ringer etc... I think if ur on a call it would just vibrate, I don't think it'll play your ringtone etc... and yes set up ur bbprofile.
Thanks for all that responded....I located the "MUTE" button on my BB Tour. It is directly on top (to the right if facing the phone). Its a "touch-screen" feature. To the left, is a passive "lock screen" button.
