I tried transferring a single song to my 8830 , but it says there is no room.
    Must I use a micoSD for mp3s?

Well if there is no space on the BB you would need the Memory card. Unless you delete stuff from the BB and create some space.
But it would be a good idea to get a Memory card.

BB devices only allow you store 2.6MB of data on the device memory if it's a song, video, or picture...the only way to get files any bigger on there is to buy a SD card.

    When I look under options...status
File Free 10810744 bytes <--- equals 10.8 MBs, right?
    File Total 47841280 bytes

Is that what's available for music though?

I did, but see no way to get it out of the email? The mp3 shows as an application, not an attachment? can you tell me how?

Did you send it an attachment. I have no clue though if it will save to the device memory. Wait I didn't read your post. Sorry no clue. Just go out and buy a 1gig card. They are like 74 bucks.

No...no matter how much space it says, you can still only transfer files that are 2.6MB and LESS to the device memory.

I think w/ the new software update to .176 allows you to use larger mSD cards. I currently use a 1gb but I don't even use 5% of it lolz its there just incase i need the space.

you can get 1gb ones cheap on newegg 11.99 for 1gb + 5.00 shipping so 17 shipped pretty good deal, if you got a FRYS next to you they got 2gb for 20 bux.. just my .02
