I used a micro sdhc. Had to upgrade to OS v4.5 to get the full 8Gb on the card I used.

You can buy either micro sd or micro sd hc. Here's the limits on media cards with their respective Operating Systems...
BlackBerry Device Software version Media card size limit
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.0 Up to 2 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.1 Up to 4 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2 Up to 4 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.3.0 Up to 8 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.5.0 Up to 8 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.5.0.81 and later Up to 16 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.6.0 and later Up to 32 GB
thanks for all the help!
dear mwdb4au,
do u have any idea where can I download the firmware (BlackBerry Device Software 4.6.0 and later Up to 32 GB)
I think the latest OS that the 8820 is compatible with is the 4.5.0.124. See sticky at top of this forum for that one.
I upgraded to the 4.5 version linked in the sticky at the top of the forum, and my 8gig works perfect.
Hey Guys Am Running On Os 4.5.0.77 And The Guys At Bestbuy Told Me That The 16gb Would Not Work On My Bb Curve 8330 Only The 8gb And So Far So Good Even After Looking Up The Info, So Far I Can Put Like 3-4 Movies, Lots Of Pics And Music And Still Have Like Almost 4gb Left On It. And When I First Put My 8gb Card In My Bb And After I Formated It It Read Like 7.3gb I Think They Take A Little Space After U Format It But It Works Great. Thanks For The Info Guys.
Can anyone help, I'm trying to load a micro SD card, 4gb. Everytime I put it in, all I get is the hourglass. When I remove the card, everything is fine. My 8820 is v4.2.2.169. I've tryied removing the battery for extended periods of time, but same problem.
Hi espinozak,
The best solution would be to upgrade to the latest OS
