I was downloading a MP4 movie to my 8830WE when it locked up and I had to pull the battery to reboot; now the media software will not recognize any new MP3 or MP4 files I put onto my device. I can use the explore function on media to access the files and they do play from that screen but they do not show up on the artist and album screens. Any suggestions as to how to re-index the media files on my SD card?

Found the answer (at least for this ). You go to the setup screen for the media card and select �Remove Media Card�, then remove and reinsert the media card. Don�t just remove and reinsert the card; this seems to signal to the media software to re-index the contents of the �new� media card. Hope this helps, now on to my other BB 8830 WE issues��
