Media card questions
Hello again....could anyone please direct me here?
Have been downloading software on my 8830 WE....the last title I tried to download told me I did not have enough memory. However, I have a memory card that you were so kind enough to tell me how to format, but the phone does not seem to recognize that it is there and available. It has 1.8 GB still available. Support is on, encryption mode is none, mass storage mode support is on, auto enable mass sorage mode when connected is yes....
I am so close, yet so far away.
Also, any suggestions on how to navigate this site so that I don't have to ask so many questions?
Thanks
Beth

Mine shows up like a flash drive in windows explorer. I always got the memory errors when trying to use the stupid media manager with the bberry desktop software. Use windows explorer and put the appropriate files in the appropriate folders and all is well.

If I am not mistaken, downloaded software cannot be stored or ran from the micro SD card. It needs to be ran from the 8830's internal memory.

You are right sk1 the SD card only holds photos, videos, music, any thing along that line. There not made to hold programs

Hmmm...quite the dilema.
So, I bought the blackberry so I could download nursing books for my clinicals. However, there is not enough memory in the blackberry to do this? The only programs I have on the phone are VR+ (which is a piece of junk) and about 50 minutes of voice files. I am unable to record any further due to lack of memory. Contacted the company and "they are aware and working on it" - lot of good that does me. Think I will buy an Ipod.
Now I downloaded one book file and attempted to download another and there is not enough room. What have I got myself into with this Blackberry?
I thought it was supposed to do "everything". Maybe I expect too much from it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for everybody's help and support.

I have a question, If the memory card only holds media files, Im confused. I have a 2 gig card, and I only have 400 megs worth of media. But when I look at the "drives" properties, it show that I only have 300 megs left of space. Whats the deal?

Somthinsim...did you get a reply to that post? I really do not understand why one cannot put whatever files they want on the media card.
I am getting ready to ditch the Blackberry for that very problem!

have not received a answer from any member other than your. I thought you could put any files on the card?
What my question is, why is my card filed with unknown data ( or at least my BB, and computer does not tell me what the card is filled with)?
