Kinda screwed - Keyboard won't work need data off phone!

Hi all here is the situation:
Some of the keys on my BB 8830 WE stopped working, unfortunately one of those keys is required to unlock the phone! I want to get my data off the phone as I hadn't synced it in a long time. :(

I connected BB desktop mgr to the phone and after entering the password it starts connecting and hangs on "Connecting...". I tried BB DM on another computer and it does the same thing so I know it is the phone. The phone shows the white screen that says "connected to desktop" each time I connect it, it just seems it isn't syncing properly and I'm getting no error messages from anything.

Can anybody think of other software that will just directly connect and allow me to just get my notes?

Update: I tried using BB DM 6.1 as well as 7, same problem. I can connect to the phone and can pull/push apps using the tool from bbsak.org but that doesn't help me get to my databases with my Memos :-(

I also tried some command line tools I found that were supposed to help me dump the file system and/or flash...but they don't work it just says "Connecting to bootrom:" and then hangs there while the phone reboots in a loop non-stop.

Any ideas?:confused:
