i just got a brand new 8820 and when i stuck the sim card in and powered it on it still says insert sim. its not in the micro sd slot either. i tried using my friends sim card and it still doesnt work.. any ideas on what the possible problem can be?
I can't remember, but if the SIM slot is like the Media Card slot, make sure you're sliding it into the door first. Then fold it down into place and slide the metal door to lock it.
If not, try a battery pull, reload the OS, or get a new SIM from your carrier.

the 8820 doesnt have the flippy door thing like the curve..its just a slot that you push your chip into..make sure its going in completely? maybe there's some dirt or something down the slot..
