I am not an opera mini fan, and I am a little hesitant about updating my OS to an unsupported version from a different country, and doubt its browser is any different, but I really dislike the OEM browser and also opera mini. Are there any other solutions?

Not that I'm aware of.

I use the BB browser under OS 4.5 and find it does all I need.

Why don't you like the Opera Mini? What would you improve?

I don't really like how, with opera mini, everything is by opera's proxy. Some sites have banned the opera proxies, and I can't use it to browse them.
