I'm with Bell Mobility here in Toronto and my 8830 doesn't have an option to send an MMS. Is this because Bell Mobility has disabled it in their OS software? (I'm currently using OS 4.2.2.176)
If so is there a way that I can enable MMS by editing this path on my PC:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8830-v4.2.2.176_P3.0.0.79\Java Or something similar to John Clark's Optimize your BB! How To Setup for max free memory! thread
I would really like to have the functionality because it would allow me to send MMS' to people who don't have data devices.
Please help! Thanks in advance....

If you want to send pictures you would have to send through email. I havnt tested it out with sounds or any other type of mms but I'm pretty sure it will work as long as its an attachment

I used to do BB tech support, and yes there are some BBs that are able to send MMS, but the 8830 doesnt have a camera in order to take pics thats why its not able to send MMS but you can send pictures via email
Actually it seems as if all Blackberry users, including the Pearls are unable to send MMS.
That's just a Sprint thing. Sprint doesn't do MMS on their phones. Dunno why, that's just a Sprint thing. Verizon doesn't do MMS on any phones that don't have a camera. Also, the MMS capability is Service Book controlled. (Trust me on this one.) The MMS cod is on all the 8830s, but the service book is not pushed to it like it is for the 8130.
I was bummed about the same thing. If I can load pics to my phone via the desktop manager why can I receive MMS pics. I don't care if I can't send them. It sucks big time
