My mail file got corrupted, our BES provider instructed me to wipe the device's data and start from scratch. I'm trying to restore my bookmarks using Desktop 4.7, but the browswer bookmarks database is gray.

I have tried to restore the content database, but that didn't give me back my bookmarks.

What else can I try? Are bookmarks also in the RMS database?

A grayed out database means the BES is controlling it. Your BES admin may be able to restore it for you.

i found the method, I'll post here for anyone else with the same issue:

go into options, advanced options, service books

select "desktop [sync]" and delete it (highlight it and press the BB key)

re-run BB desktop, you'll now be able to sync anything from your backup file to your BB

after synching, go back into options, advanced options, service books and press the BB key, select "undelete" and you are done.

For those on a newer (e.g., 7.x) OS, the location for Service Books is found as follows:

Options > Device > Advanced System Settings > Service Book
