I am having 8830 and i am getting email messages which has mp3 attachments, Is there any way i can play those MP3 message directly or is there anyway i can play them?? Any help on this topic is very much appreciated...
what's the easiest way to get mp3 files from your computer to your 8830, plugging the phone directly in with a micro sd card to save the songs or emailing yourself songs? i'm guessing download times on emailing yourself songs wouldn't be very good and the process would end up being a hassle
You answered your own question there. Its by far easier to just transfer songs to the MicroSD card and drop them in the music folder. Save yourself the hassle and go that route.
Hey Navilyn
I tried to open the attachment and it gives me a message unrecognized docucment format.... its an mp3 file... I am having 8830 with Verizon.... any help is appreciated... thanks...

You may try doing a battery pull. Is the email account BIS or BES (corporate email and BB)? I remember I couldn't open mp3 on my BIS accounts but then I put in a BES and I am able to do it there. If it is BES, the server version must be current because I believe it's a relatively new feature.

I too have the same issue. Receive my voicemail via email with an MP3 attachment and cannot get them. My player opens up but there is nothing there. Desperate for a solution here.
there is a wav/mp3 viewer available for 20 bucks on the site. i am trying to demo to see if it works. you get 7 days or 30 messages without having to pay.
search wav in the main screen
I have this all working now. Purchased AudioPop and it is great. It did not work at first but the developer looked at my issues and make some custom changes for it to work and I think re-loaded a new version onto his site/Handango since then. Works perfectly and very simply. Check it out. Support was unbelievable even in trial period. As I say he ended up customizing it.
Unfortunately, Audiopop only allows a 1 MB attachment, which is useless for sending a song file. I want to be able to get song files from people as email attachments - it's VERY handy when you are in a band, writing songs, and exchanging them this way.
Is there anything else?
Twelve HUNDRED DOLLARS? That's a mistake, right?
Anyway,,, for $20 you can download and install MediaPOP. It is a big-brother follow-on from AudioPop, and it supports up to 5 MB attachments. Works for mp3, wmv and many other media types. There is a free trial that will work for attachments.
I installed it on my 8830, and it works perfectly. BRAVO!
Also, the 5 MB isn't a "hard" limit. When you send an mp3 as an attachment, the encoding makes it actually take more like 7 - 8 MB. There is a limit on the BlackBerry email of an 8 MB attachment, so it is THEIR limit, not MediaPOP's.
As it turns out, I sent a 5.5 MB mp3, and it still worked, because the attached size was still under 8 MB.
Go here: (sorry it's not a hot-link, the stupid forum rules won't let me put
in a link until I have 10 posts).

You can download it over-the-air right on your BlackBerry. That's what I did. Worked like a charm.
I think I am missing something quite obvious, so I'm hopeful some wise soul will have a quick fix.
I downloaded MediaPOP directly to my Sprint 8330 Curve. It immediately said "application installed successfully," but when I attempted to open mp3 attachments, I noticed I did NOT get the screen shots that are shown on the store.berryreview site selling MediaPOP.
I do, however, get the full menu, on which I can select "view attachment." Seems logical. I attempted to select the mp3 file, and I received the following message:
"File is not ready yet, please try again in a moment."
Needless to say, I have tried repeatedly, but to no avail.
I don't need a music player, just a way to open mp3 attachments for my job, and can't seem to find a way to do that!
If someone has experienced this and can offer feedback, I would greatly appreciate it.
