WHAT'S A 'HOLSTER'

maybe a link or a picture could help me so i know whawt you guys are talking about. just got my crack the other day...

To me, that's a pouch.

The bad things about the holster is that it chips away the paint at the top of your phone. At least the Verizon branded holster does.

why then are there so many settings on my phone for "holster"? the blackberry recognizes when it's in a plastic holster and changes it's behavior? i dont get it

Yes the BB wud recognise when its in holster.
Like I have a louder ringtone when I got my BB in the sleeve/pouch

i have the bb pouch with the chip and the belt clip broke, so i went and got a vz plastic holster. is there a way to attach the chip from the pouch to the holster so my phone goes to sleep in the holster as opposed to pressing and holding mute to put device to sleep
