Ok guys im trying to do a browser enable on a vzw 8830we...but nothing i do will enable the legacy sb restore mode. Ive tried alt+SBEB, and alt+SBEO at options/advanced options/service books time and time again...and nothing.
Has anyone had this issue? Can anyone tell me how to enable legacy SB mode?

It's not often I read something on here and have absolutely no idea what the OP is talking about, but you got me this time. What is legacy SB mode? Why do you want to enable it?
Legacy SB restore mode will allow you to load Service Books to the BB that are unsigned and not originally meant for that phones carrier...your supposted to be able to go to options/advanced options/service books and hold alt+SBEB to enable legacy SB Restore mode...but i cant get it to work on this 8830.......im trying to enable to browser without BIS/BES......

ok so i have a storm that i bought in the u.s. but now im using it in malaysia with digi but i have not gotten the internet to work fully. because i have no service books.. i got the opera mini to get internet by enabling the apn mode and entering the digi malaysia apn.. but opera mini is not designed for the storm. so its very hard to use... on a blackberry storm cannot hold more then mone number or letter at the same time becuase its touchscreen...
I did on my storm 2
go to option->advanced options->Service book
press app button and press show keyboard
reorient your phone to landscape to show full keyboard
press and hold [!?123] key for 1 sec to lock it in number mode
press [4]
press [?]
press [2]
press [?]
voila
you are a genius googled for like 45 mins and your insturctions worked running a 9530 on telus's network. Wish there was a way to publiicize this to the world of storm users dying to figure it out. Everyone else was close but not exact. Gonna restore some service books now hope i got the right ones, and i get my browser to work. Sorry bout the caps but yo you just made my night
However, I tried several times in my storm 9550 (advanced option, service book). I could not have the message "legacy SB restore enabled". Any suggestion?

I've enabled "Legacy SB restore" but i'd like to reverse it. how can i do that?
does anyone know how to do this on a pearl? the keyboard is different, and I can't figure out how to make it work.
I actually did what you said & it reads like it works, however the active tab is still highlighted in grey, which means overall it does not work. Can't clik the active tab at all.

I just updated my Storm2 to v5.0.0.713 platform 4.2.0.323
and now I can't enable Legacy SB restore mode.
Can you please help me ?
