I just purchased a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter for my 8830 WE. When I plug it all in I get no sound except from my phone. I have tried the "Activate Headset" option and it still doesn't work. Am I doing something wrong or WTF????

If you bought the adapter from Radio Shack, you will have to return it and get another. That one does not work.

Connect the adapter to the headphones, and then connect them to the phone. Sometimes that is an issue.

Do a search on this forum for all the issues associated with the headset adapter.

You need a 2.5mm TRS male to 3.5mm TRS female.

I got my adapter at a Verizon store which sells the proper one.

I think I've read Seido sells one that works, also. I also purchased a pair of wired earplugs at their shop that already have the proper size plug and come with an adapter to go the other way.

make sure that you can feel the adpater being really snug, if not get a verizon one, or I know that there are headsets with the 2.5 male plug

I find that only the Seidio adapter works. Can be purchased online.
