Has this always happen to you with your Blackberry. I know the BB and the Iphone uses special 3.5mm jacks that have three likes compared to regular earphones that have 2 lines.

try hitting the speaker button. I messed around with my headphones and while plugged and hitting the speaker button, it can play music through headphone or speaker.

MrChef - I had the same problem, until I tried starting the music with the earphones unplugged, then plugging them in after it had started. Then it worked perfectly fine.

When you start playing music in the media player, sometimes you need to select the output source you wish to listen through. Usually it defaults to the phone speaker. If you hit the menu button when you have started playing the music, you can go down the menu about 3/4 the way and select the output source you wish to use. Kinda a pain when you first start the media player up to listen to music.
