You can save almost anything to an SD card using Mass Storage Mode. Opening a file is another matter. If you have Docs to Go Premium, you can open PDFs and Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files. With the free basic Docs to Go, you can open and edit Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files, but cannot open PDFs. I don't know any free PDF reader. Docs to Go Basic is free and included in OS 4.5, which is available for the 8830.
