Before anyone jumps down my throat, I know that the 8830 only supports GSM 900/1800 for use overseas.

However, the other night I was updating my 8830 to .169 and for whatever reason decided to look at my Device Properties. There plain as day Blackberry Desktop Manager claims that in addition to the already known GSM 900/1800, the phone also supports GSM 1900. An application that I downloaded, SignalLoc had also reported the same thing to me a few weeks ago. However, since it was 3rd party freeware, I figured that it must be a mistake, now I'm not sure. So what's the verdict? Is there a glitch in Blackberry Desktop Manager to make it report GSM 1900, a glitch in my 8830 or is does the GSM radio actually support the 1900 band?

I wiped my PIN, IMEI and phone number, but the rest of the picture is untouched.

I'm curious too, I've noticed this before but forgot to ask. It might be a glitch in DM v5 (I'm new to BB and never had any earlier version).

I'm going to take a guess and say it's simply an error. RIM also claims on their website that the 8130 has GSM capabilities
