Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone knows why I get gmail (configured as IMAP) instantly on my 8830 but it takes up to 15 minutes to get mail from my .mac mail account (also IMAP).

RIM has a BIS partnetship of sorts with GMail to support fast push email. Other accounts still work, but are limited to the 15minute polling timeout that BIS has.

I'll probably start using my gmail account more just to get emails faster. I hate waiting!

Since when? If you go over to the Gmail support site, you will see multiple threads from BB users complaining of slow updates.

My gmail gets to my BB instantly.

I have the same problem with my .mac, seems to be a 10-15 minute delay.

Gmail is instant for me too.... Yahoo sometimes takes HOURS !!!!Grrr.... sorry for yelling LOL

This must not apply to Google Apps then. I have my own domain hosted with Google for free (basically Gmail) and I have to wait to get my email every 15-20 mins.
