I have 8830 Telus (Canada). I have downloaded Desktop Manager v4.3 and Handheld Software v4.2.2.322 from Blackberry.com
then installed the software in recommended order: Desktop Manager first, Handheld Software second. also rebooted my computer between installations.
Next , I plugged in my 8830, a popup dialog on my computer said there is a new version, I click "update" and wait... It did what it's supposed to do and 8830 restarted. I checked the firmware version in Options | About , it still shows v4.2.2.176 which is the original version. So nothing seem to have changed. I also removed the battery for 2-3 minutes as recommended for many problems, but it did not do anything either.
That's the right version. 322 is the "release" verson. If you hit CTL+Shift+H you will see the OS version with a number in (). 322 should be in between the ().
