My friend received a message within her BB Messenger. It said it was from me and the file was dom.vcf. I never sent her a message (there is no history on my phone for it) and I am not sure what that is. I believe it may be a voicefile, but she has stated she can't open it. I haven't received a voice message, yet, through bb messenger so I don't know what it is.

A .vcf file is a vCard File. Some mail servers or mail clients can be configured to send them out with each message a user sends. It typically provides the user's name, address, email, and phone info.

I'm not surprised that your BlackBerry can't open it. Though, if you really need to parse the file, I would suggest that you forward the message to yourself where you can view it in an email client like Outlook, etc.

I'm not sure how she could have received it from you if you never sent it. Just telling you what it is.

Is your BB enrolled with a BES server? Perhaps there is a BES policy that sends it for you, whether you want to or not.

Same thing happened to me. I received two such posts on my BBM. I know who the people are but can't do anything with it.
